Organisational excellence receives a prestigious confirmation at SPIEF 16
In these days (June 16-18) the proven organisational excellence of Fiera Milano Congressi (MiCo) receives a prestigious confirmation: the result of the job assignment of setting up and running the Italian pavilion (“Italy in Russia”) at SPIEF 16 (Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum 2016), the annual international conference dedicated to economic and social issues, held every year in Saint Petersburg.
This year in its twentieth edition, the Forum sees the participation of heads of state and of government, ministers, representatives of the most important institutions (one name among many: Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission), top managers of leading companies, economists and scholars from all over the world.
Since 1997, the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum has been an exceptional showcase for all Italian industry and business – and for Italy as a whole – on a market undergoing expansion and of the greatest interest, unfortunately penalized in recent years by European sanctions in the wake of the conflict in the Ukraine, and with a potential for development involving figures perhaps hard to imagine.
More than other European countries, even in times of crisis Italy – heir to historical relations and uninterrupted dialogue – has always sought a fruitful relationship with the Russian interlocutor, being aware not only of our mutual interests in trade and business, but also of the extraordinary cultural bond that ties our country to the Eurasian giant.
Perhaps also for this reason this year Roscongress, organizer of the event, has chosen to honour Italy by designating it Guest Country of an event that sees the Italian delegation represented at the uppermost level in the person of Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, side by side with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. The visibility of the Saint Petersburg showcase goes beyond the Russian Federation, extending to the whole Eurasian Economic Community formed by Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The Italian sponsor companies of the “Italy in Russia” pavilion number twenty-two, representing the five clusters of Italy’s economy currently most strategic in terms of Russian demand: mechanics/high-tech, energy, agroindustry, infrastructures and finance, which will have an opportunity to show their production and research potential through videos. Also, and with greater immediacy, their representatives will have a chance to meet with operators and to sign agreements reached during the Forum.
The Italian pavilion “Italy in Russia” promoted and organized by the Associazione Conoscere Eurasia (www.conoscereeurasia.it), in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Moscow, and realized by MiCo (Fiera Milano Congressi), Nolostand of the Fiera Milano Group and Studio 80 Group, has as sponsor/partners Leonardo-Finmeccanica, Intesa Sanpaolo and Banca Intesa Russia, and as sponsors Platinum LLC Pirelli Tyre Russia and Mikro Kapital.
For MiCo, Fiera Milano Congressi, such recognition also rewards recent successes in the staging of major institutional events, including the demanding Semester of Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union (2014).
