Expo effect, a positive spin-off

The numbers are clear: Expo Milano 2015 works, and how, as a stimulus for the entire National economy. The last proof arrives from the data of the Chamber of Commerce of Monza and Brianza, which predict – just to give an example – a turn over on the Milanese territory equal to 21 million and 500 thousand Euros. The amount refers to visitors staying for at least one night in the city or its province.

43% of the facilities declares an increase of presences motivated by Expo, 6.6% says that the reasons of the exploit are entirely due to the Universal Exhibition. International visitors arrive mainly from the Euro zone (75%), Russia (25%), China (18%) and from Canada and USA (18%). Among the usual clients of the Milanese hotels, one on five visits the exhibition. The hotel turn-over in the Brianza territory, on the other hand, is of 600 thousand Euros.

The Expo effect produces favourable repercussions even on Venice (+14.3% is the average increase of presences), on the Riviera romagnola (+10.5%), in Salento (+28.3%) and on the Amalfi Coast (+15%).
