Milan is a popular destination for some of the most famous singing stars in the world! In 2017 many top artists will be in town:

1. Skunk Anansie, Mediolanum Forum – Assago (MI), 28/01/2017

British rock band whose members include Skin (lead vocals, guitar), Cass (guitar, bass, backing vocals), Ace (guitar, backing vocals) and Mark Richardson (drums and percussion). Skunk Anansie formed in March 1994, disbanded in 2001 and reformed in 2009. The name “Skunk Anansie” is taken from Akann folk tales of Anansi the spider-man of Ghana, with “Skunk” added to “make the name nastier”. Their singer Skin is also known in Italy to be a former judge of the italian X Factor.

2. Mario Biondi, Teatro degli Arcimboldi – Milan, 08/03/2017

Born in Catania, Italy, the son of a popular song singer, after a long series of participations with Italian and international artists, and a small production of disco music, during 2006 he achieved success with the Schema Records album Handful of Soul. His deep and warm voice recalls the great interpreters of soul and rhythm and blues music. On the 5th of May 2015 Mario Biondi has published a brand new record: Beyond, featuring songs such as Love is a temple.

3. Ed Sheeran, Pala Alpitour – Turin, 17/03/2017

English singer, songwriter and occasional rapper and actor. He attended the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Surrey, as an undergraduate from the age of 18 in autumn 2009. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. Sheeran‘s third album, ÷ (“divide”), will be released in March 2017. The first two singles from the album, “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill“, were released in January 2017 and broke records in a number of countries, including the UK, Australia and Germany, by debuting in the top two positions of the charts.

4 Tinie Tempah, Magazzini Generali – Milan, 01/04/2017

English rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. He also created his own record and fashion label Disturbing London Records in 2007. After releasing a couple of mixtapes, he released his long-awaited debut album, Disc-Overy, in October 2010. The album charted at number one and was certified Platinum the next year. Then he won two Brit Awards for Best British Breakthrough Act and Best British Single.

5. Il Volo, Mediolanum Forum – Assago (MI), 09/05/2017

Il Volo is an Italian pop trio, consisting of singers: the baritone Gianluca Ginoble, and two tenors, Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto. They describe their music as “popera“. Having won the Sanremo Music Festival 2015, they represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, Austria. They reached third place, but managed to secure a solid first place victory in the televoting. On 30 September 2016, the group together with Placido Domingo released Notte Magica – A Tribute To The Three Tenors. The live album features many of the songs performed by The Three Tenors (Domingo, Pavarotti and Carreras) for their iconic concert held on the eve of the Italia ’90 World Cup

6. Bruno Mars, Mediolanum Forum – Assago (MI), 15/06/2017

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, by a family of musicians, Mars has received many awards and nominations, including four Grammy Awards, and was named one of Time’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2011. In December 2013, he ranked number one on the Forbes 30 under 30 list. Mars is known for his stage performances and retro showmanship.He is accompanied by his band, The Hooligans, who play a variety of instruments such as electric guitar, bass, piano, keyboards, drums and horns, and also serve as backup singers and dancers. Mars performs in a wide range of musical styles.

7. Radiohead, Autodromo di Monza – Monza, 15-17/06/17

Radiohead are an English rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments), Ed O’Brien (guitar, backing vocals), Colin Greenwood (bass), and Phil Selway (drums, percussion, backing vocals). They have worked with producer Nigel Godrich and cover artist Stanley Donwood since 1994.

8. Green Day, Autodromo di Monza – Monza, 15/06/17

Green Day is an American punk rock band formed in 1986 which has sold more than 85 million records worldwide. Green Day was ranked no. 91 in the VH1 list of the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time“. On April 18, 2015, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a part of the 2015 class in their first year of eligibility.

9. Tiziano Ferro, Stadio San Siro – Milan, 16-17/06/17

Italian singer-songwriter, producer and author. He broke through in 2001 with his international hit single “Perdono” and has remained commercially successful since then, primarily in his home country. Ferro has released a Spanish version of each of his albums, and has also sung in English, Portuguese, and French. Known as the modern face of Italian pop music, he frequently writes songs for other artists. Ferro is currently one of the best-selling artists in Italy.

10. Kings of Leon, Ippodromo di San Siro – Milan, 21/06/17

Kings of Leon is an American rock band that formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1999. The band’s early music was a blend of Southern rock and blues influences, but it has gradually expanded throughout the years to include a variety of genres and a more alternative, arena rock sound. The group has 12 Grammy Award nominations, including 4 wins.

11. Depeche Mode, Stadio San Siro – Milan, 27/06/2017

English electronic band that formed in 1980 in Basildon, Essex. Depeche Mode have had fifty songs in the UK Singles Chart and thirteen top 10 albums in the UK chart; they have sold over 100 million records worldwide. Q magazine calls Depeche Mode “the most popular electronic band the world has ever known” and included the band in the list of the “50 Bands That Changed the World!“. Depeche Mode also rank number 98 on VH1’s “100 Greatest Artists of All Time“.

12. Coldplay, Stadio San Siro – Milan, 3-4/07/17

Coldplay are a British rock band formed in 1996. The band has won 62 awards from 209 nominations throughout their career. Coldplay have sold more than 80 million records worldwide, making them one of the world’s best-selling music artists. The British band has been an active supporter of various social and political causes, such as Oxfam’s Make Trade Fair campaign and Amnesty International.

13. U2, Stadio Olimpico – Rome, 15-16/07/17

U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin formed in 1976.
Initially rooted in post-punk, U2’s sound grew to incorporate influences from many genres of popular music, yet has maintained an anthemic sound.
U2 have released 13 studio albums and are one of the world’s best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 170 million records worldwide.
They have won 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other band, and, in 2005, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility.
Rolling Stone ranked U2 at number 22 in its list of the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time“.

14. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ippodromo di San Siro – Milan, 21/07/17

Red Hot Chili Peppers are an American funk rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1983.
When played live, their music incorporates elements of jam band due to the improvised nature of much of their performances. Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of the best-selling bands of all time with over 80 million records sold worldwide, have been nominated for sixteen Grammy Awards, of which they have won six, and are the most successful band in alternative rock radio history.
In 2012, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

15. Sting, piazza Sordello – Mantua, 28/07/17

Sting was the principal songwriter, lead singer, and bassist for the new wave rock band The Police from 1977 to 1984, before launching a solo career
As a solo musician and a member of The Police, he has received 16 Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, including Best British Male in 1994 and Outstanding Contribution in 2002, a Golden Globe, an Emmy and four nominations for the Academy Award for Best Original Song. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Police in 2003. In 2000, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for recording.

16. (CANCELLED) Lady Gaga, Mediolanum Forum – Assago (MI), 26/09/17

Lady Gaga, is an American singer, songwriter, actress and record producer. She performed initially in theater, appearing in high school plays, and studied at CAP21 through NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts before dropping out to pursue a musical career. With global album and single sales of 27 million and 146 million respectively, as of January 2016, she is one of the best-selling musicians of all time. Her achievements include twelve Guinness World Records, three Brit Awards, and six Grammy Awards. She is also the first artist to win the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s Contemporary Icon Award.

17. James Blunt, Mediolanum Forum – Assago (MI), 14/11/17

Blunt rose to prominence in 2004 with the release of his debut studio album Back to Bedlam, achieving worldwide fame with the singles “You’re Beautiful” and “Goodbye My Lover“.
The album sold over 11 million copies worldwide. He has gone on to sell over 20 million albums and 20 million singles worldwide. He also has received several awards, including two Brit Awards—winning Best British Male in 2006, two MTV Video Music Awards, two Ivor Novello Awards as well as receiving five Grammy Award nominations.

18. Ludovico Einaudi, Teatro Dal Verme – Milano, 8-10/12/17 & 12-15/12/17



Ludovico Einaudi is an Italian pianist and composer. He trained at the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan. Einaudi began his career as a classical composer, and began incorporating other styles and genres—including pop, rock, world music, and folk music. Einaudi composed the scores for a number of films and trailers, including This Is England, The Intouchables and I’m Still Here and Acquario in 1996, for which he won the Grolla d’oro for best soundtrack. He has also released a number of solo albums of piano and orchestra, notably I Giorni in 2001, Nightbook in 2009, and In a Time Lapse in 2013.
