Milan among the best Meeting Destination in Europe by Cvent
Eventing Milan CB – July 19, 2019 – Eventing Milan Convention Bureau announced today that it has been ranked number 17 on Cvent’s annual list of the Top 25 Meeting Destinations in Europe for 2019.  Cvent, a market-leading meetings, events, and hospitality technology provider, hosts one of the world’s largest venue sourcing networks and MICE business booking platforms called the Cvent Supplier Network (CSN). The lists were compiled based on meeting and event booking activity across Cvent’s venue sourcing sites, including CSN, through which more than $16 billion in business was sourced in 2018.

Cvent evaluated more than 11,000 cities worldwide featured on Cvent’s venue sourcing sites to compile the eighth annual list. Activity was tracked from January 2018 through December 2018 and destinations were ranked according to the following criteria:
  • Unique Request for Proposals Received
  • Total Room Nights Received
  • Awarded Request for Proposals
  • Awarded Room Nights
  • Percentage of Qualified Meeting Venues
  • Number of Profile Views

This achievement depends mostly on the capability of all the partners of Eventing Milan Convention Bureau to work together towards one goal: make Milan the business events capital.
Almost a hundred partners of the network put together their efforts to market the capital of fashion and design as the leading destination for national and international events. From incentive meetings to medical conferences and corporate events Milan offers the proper environment to manage and organize events of all types.

Its more than 35.000 hotel rooms, the MiCo Milano Convention Centre, the more than efficient transportation network and its three international airports are just some of the main infrastructures that highlight the potential of Milan.

Moreover the contribution of the meeting industry has a huge economic impact on the city. Each and every participant to the meetings happening in Milan spends an average of €1.200 in hotels, restaurants, museums and shopping. This highlights how the Milanese MICE players contribute to the wellbeing of the city and to its GDP.

“Business events add $1.5 trillion to the global GDP and because of this positive economic impact, the cities featured in this year’s Top Meeting Destinations lists have put significant time and resources into attracting more MICE business to their locales,” said Chris McAndrews, vice president of marketing for Cvent Hospitality Cloud. “Leading destinations are working closely with hotels and venues in their area to offer and promote unique experiences, helping event organisers deliver more memorable and impactful events.”
